Tribute to Aviation Chronographs

This chronograph draws inspiration from the great aviation chronographs of the past, which, with their functional design, helped define a genre, writing an important chapter in the history of watchmaking and beyond.

Elegance in the Details

Despite the functionalist inspiration, there are subtle elegant details, such as the treatment of the surfaces, alternating between brushed and polished finishes.

THE MOVEMENT

The engine of this watch is a Swiss Sellita SW510 Top Grade movement. Top Grade indicates that the manufacturer applies the strictest tolerances and the utmost care during production.
This movement is based on the Sellita SW500 design, an “integrated” chronograph movement based on the famous Valjoux 7750, one of the first automatic chronographs. The design of the 7750 dates back to 1973. Unlike other automatic chronographs on the market, such as the Zenith El Primero or the Breitling, the 7750 was less refined but significantly more robust, a characteristic that has…

Transformed this movement into an icon. The 510 is an evolution of the SW500, with the main difference being the arrangement of the subdials, which changes from a 12-3-6 layout to the more classic 3-6-9. This chronograph features a “coulisse” escapement, meaning the chronograph functions are driven by levers that move a cam back and forth, alternately starting, stopping, and resetting the chronograph. This system is less complex than the so-called “column wheel,” but it offers a significant advantage in terms of robustness, simplicity, and reliability.

This chronograph has a “coulisse” escapement, which means that the chronograph functions are controlled by levers that move a long cam back and forth, alternately starting, stopping, and resetting the chronograph. This system is less intricate than the so-called “column wheel” but offers significant advantages in terms of robustness, simplicity, and reliability.

The Controls

In order to minimize the risk of error, or rather, to maximize the chances of detecting and correcting it, each watch undergoes extensive checks.

The movement is tested by the manufacturer according to the specified standards and tolerances. When the movement reaches our control laboratory, it is kept running for at least 7 days. The movement is then “cased” and the watch is completed and closed. At this point, the assembled chronograph undergoes a new series of tests. If the watch does not meet the set standards, the technician will adjust the movement if possible, or otherwise replace the entire movement.

Each watch is accompanied by the control document, which includes the readings from the chronocomparator.

THE COLLECTION

Dedicated by those who fly to those who fly, each watch combines the needs of pilots with

a pursuit of elegance. Powered by a Swiss movement, forged from the steel of a F104 Starfighter turbine.
